Technical Product Manager - Production Deployments/Private Cloud (Bangkok based, relocation provided)
Agoda is seeking a Technical Product Manager to lead the development and evolution of platforms governing the deployment, operation, scaling, and management of production services. This role is integral to the Production Deployments domain, which oversees the entire lifecycle of production services, including deployment orchestration, private cloud runtime environments, service controls, and cost-aware resource management. The successful candidate will collaborate with platform engineers, Site Reliability Engineers (SREs), and application teams to enhance software release processes, resource consumption, risk management, and cost-effective operations throughout the service lifecycle.
Key responsibilities include owning the full product lifecycle for production deployment and runtime platforms, from discovery and design through adoption and continuous improvement. The role involves defining a clear long-term vision for managing production services, encompassing deployment, operation, scaling, upgrades, and decommissioning. The Technical Product Manager will partner with platform engineers, SREs, and service owners to identify operational challenges and prioritize high-impact platform capabilities. Additionally, the role focuses on enabling safer and more efficient releases through automation, standardization, and platform guardrails, as well as driving visibility and controls around resource usage and cost to optimize and right-size services.
The ideal candidate will have experience working in or closely with production environments, with an understanding of how services are deployed, operated, scaled, and supported in live systems. They should possess the ability to comprehend developer and service-owner requirements at a technical level, including the workflows and controls needed to operate applications in production. A proven ability to navigate differing requirements, such as speed versus safety, flexibility versus standardization, and team-specific needs versus platform consistency, is essential. The role requires at least three years of experience in technical product or program management within a highly technical environment, strong product thinking and communication skills, and the ability to influence and align engineering teams without direct authority.
