Taxation Specialist

The Taxation Specialist at WPP Media in Karachi, Pakistan, will oversee a team responsible for ensuring timely and accurate filing of Provincial Sales Tax Returns on a monthly basis. This role involves reconciling relevant sales tax inputs, outputs, and payables, as well as preparing information for the annual income tax return to ensure timely submission.

Key responsibilities include supervising the preparation of quarterly advance income tax liabilities, reviewing weekly income tax payments, and maintaining reconciliations of tax-related ledgers. The specialist will liaise with tax consultants to address notices from tax authorities, coordinate with clients and vendors on complex transactions, and support the business development team during client onboarding. Additionally, the role involves assisting external auditors and ensuring compliance with tax regulations for new vendors.

Candidates should possess a bachelor's degree from a reputable university and have over four years of experience in taxation, preferably from a recognized firm. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks are essential. Proficiency in tax laws and regulations, as well as excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, are required.
