Tax Technology, Senior Specialist (Bangkok Based, Relocation Provided)
As a Tax Technology Senior Specialist at Agoda, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and maintaining the company's tax systems, with a strong emphasis on indirect tax engines and compliance enablement. Based in Bangkok, this position reports to the Tax Data & Technology Associate Director and is part of a rapidly expanding Tax team responding to the evolving global tax landscape for digital services. You will collaborate closely with Product, Technology, Supply, Legal, and Senior Leadership teams, as well as with sister brand companies and Agoda's US parent company.
Your primary responsibilities will include contributing to the design, implementation, and enhancement of tax-related systems, focusing on indirect tax engines and services. You will partner with Product, Engineering, and Finance teams to define, test, and embed tax requirements into core platforms and systems. Additionally, you will own and support ERP tax configuration and maintenance, including tax codes and related setup, and support the integration and optimization of external tax engines and tools across ERP, billing, and payment systems.
The role requires a minimum of six years of experience in tax technology, tax systems, or tax transformation projects within a multinational or digital environment. A degree in Accounting, Tax Economics/Law, Finance, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field is required, with a professional tax or accounting qualification considered a plus. Proven experience translating indirect tax requirements into tax determination logic and system configurations, as well as hands-on experience with ERP systems and indirect tax engines, including configuration, testing, and issue resolution, are essential.
