Tax Compliance Manager (LATAM)
The Tax Compliance Manager (LATAM) at EBANX is responsible for overseeing statutory tax obligations across multiple Latin American countries, including Mexico, Chile, Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and Bolivia. This role ensures accurate and timely filing of direct and indirect tax returns, manages cross-border reporting requirements, and maintains internal controls to mitigate fiscal risks. The manager acts as a strategic liaison between local finance teams and corporate leadership, monitoring legislative changes to ensure compliance with local tax codes while optimizing the company's regional tax posture.
Key responsibilities include leading and mentoring the LATAM Tax Compliance team, setting clear priorities and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. The manager owns end-to-end tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring timely and accurate filings for various taxes such as VAT, WHT, CIT, and local taxes. Additionally, the role involves managing tax audits and interactions with local authorities, assessing risks, tracking contingencies, and ensuring strong documentation and audit readiness. Collaboration with business, product, and regulatory teams is essential to support new payment flows and ensure accurate tax treatment in operational structures. The manager also drives process excellence by standardizing compliance frameworks, implementing scalable controls, and identifying automation opportunities across the region.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience leading and developing tax teams across multiple LATAM countries, with a strong background in tax compliance, including direct and indirect taxes. Solid experience managing tax audits and dealing with local tax authorities is essential, along with expertise in tax credits recoverability and statutory obligations management. The role requires the ability to navigate complex, fast-paced environments with a high level of ownership and accountability, as well as strong stakeholder management and communication skills to partner cross-functionally.
