Altruist is seeking a Tax and Retirement Operations Analyst to join our team in Dallas, TX. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and compliance of tax and retirement operations, maintaining the integrity of client accounts, and processing transactions efficiently. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced fintech environment dedicated to transforming the wealth management industry.

Key responsibilities include maintaining and updating client cost basis across various investment products, processing and reconciling corporate actions, managing wash sales and tax corrections in compliance with IRS standards, and supporting the production and review of tax forms such as Forms 1099-B, 1099-DIV, 1099-INT, 1099-MISC, 1099-OID, 5498, and 1099-R. Additionally, you will investigate and resolve cost basis discrepancies, ensure accurate cost basis preservation during asset transfers, manage retirement transactions, and collaborate with internal teams to improve processes and resolve operational issues.

The ideal candidate will have at least one year of experience in financial operations, retirement services, cost basis management, or brokerage operations. A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in financial services, operations, or accounting is required. Candidates should possess knowledge of IRA and 401(k) account rules, custodial operations, and tax reporting, as well as familiarity with a wide range of investment products. Strong attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills, and excellent written and verbal communication abilities are essential. A FINRA Series 99 or Series 7 license is preferred but not required.

Altruist offers a competitive salary range of $59,000 to $86,000, along with equity for eligible positions.
