Surface Analysis Scientist
Eurofins is seeking a Surface Analysis Scientist to join our team, focusing on advanced analytical testing services across various industries. This role involves working with cutting-edge instruments such as Time-of-Flight Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometry (ToF-SIMS), X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS), Raman spectroscopy, and X-ray Diffraction (XRD) to ensure the safety and quality of products ranging from food and water to pharmaceuticals.
The primary responsibilities include preparing samples, operating and maintaining analytical equipment, conducting tests, processing data, and reviewing reports to ensure high-quality results and timely turnaround. The scientist will lead the development of new analytical methods in fields like semiconductors, microelectronics, new energy, and materials science, as well as optimize existing testing processes. Additionally, the role involves collaborating with the sales team to promote technology, communicating with clients to understand their requirements, providing test plans, issuing valid test reports, and addressing technical inquiries post-testing.
Candidates should possess a doctoral degree (or a master's degree with substantial experience) in organic chemistry, physics, or materials science, along with at least five years of experience in ToF-SIMS, XPS, Raman, or related fields. Proficiency in operating at least one of these instruments, a strong ability to conduct complex sample analyses, and a keen judgment of experimental results are essential. The role requires excellent research and innovation capabilities, problem-solving skills, effective communication, teamwork, and proficiency in English and office software.
