Summer 2027 Legal Intern, Abortion Criminal Defense Initiative

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) is seeking a Summer 2027 Legal Intern for its Abortion Criminal Defense Initiative (ACDI). This role is available remotely or in a hybrid format, based in either New York City or Washington, D.C. The ACDI was established in response to the Dobbs decision to address the criminal defense needs of abortion providers, patients, and individuals assisting those seeking abortion care. The team comprises a dedicated group of criminal defense attorneys managing and supporting a nationwide network of experienced defenders.
