Divergent is seeking a Structures Engineer to join our Aerospace & Defense team in Torrance, California. As a technology company revolutionizing industrial manufacturing through our Divergent Adaptive Production System (DAPS), we integrate machine learning, additive manufacturing, and flexible assembly to produce complex vehicle structures and subsystems. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge aerospace vehicle development within a dynamic and innovative environment.

In this position, you will be responsible for the entire product development lifecycle, from program initiation to production. Key duties include creating and managing CAD designs and BOM structures, developing and analyzing finite element models of Node™-based vehicle structures, and presenting design summaries to internal and external stakeholders. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential to ensure designs are optimized for mass, efficient production, and assembly. Additionally, you will maintain technical documentation and support vehicle builds and product development testing.

The ideal candidate holds a BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or a related field and possesses experience in structural design and analysis. Proficiency in CAD software, particularly Siemens NX, and familiarity with PLM systems like Teamcenter are advantageous. A solid understanding of linear and nonlinear behaviors of advanced materials, experience with aerospace load applications and MIL-STDs, and strong interpersonal skills are essential. The ability to manage personal workload and execute tasks within tight schedules is also required.
