Strategic Account Manager
The Strategic Account Manager at Block (formerly Square) is a pivotal role within the Strategic Account Management team, focusing on nurturing and expanding relationships with some of the company's largest sellers in the Food and Beverage sector. This position is integral to Block's mission of providing comprehensive, integrated solutions that empower sellers to thrive in a dynamic commerce landscape.
In this role, the Strategic Account Manager will oversee a portfolio of 50 key Food and Beverage sellers primarily in the Los Angeles area and across the West Coast. Responsibilities include driving account-based revenue growth through identifying expansion opportunities, cross-selling, and customizing onboarding experiences. The manager will collaborate closely with product teams to advocate for the needs of upmarket sellers and will serve as a consultant to high-value restaurant clients, ensuring their objectives are met through tailored solutions.
Candidates should possess over five years of relevant account management experience, with a proven track record in managing, retaining, and growing a diverse client base. Exceptional discovery skills, a technical solutioning framework, and experience in contract and pricing negotiations are essential. Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with creative and strategic problem-solving capabilities, are crucial for success in this role. Experience in the restaurant industry or Food and Beverage technology is preferred.
