Store Communications Intern
As a Store Communications Intern at ALO, you will collaborate closely with the Retail Operations team and key business partners to ensure store teams have easy access to accurate, current, and well-written policy and process documentation. This role is designed for a candidate who is passionate about making jobs easier for frontline teams, is a strong writer and communicator, and has a keen eye for detail. Success in this role means understanding how store teams actually work and documenting processes in a clear, practical, and usable way.
Key responsibilities include interviewing stakeholders and functional owners to understand and clarify objectives, obstacles, and compliance needs to refine policy and process documents. You will work with business partners to identify obsolete, inaccurate, and missing store documentation, creating a final tracker of all store-facing documentation to be used as a foundation for ongoing quality audits. Additionally, you will update current store documents, revising for readability, grammar, and accuracy, and transition them into the most current format template to ensure consistency and revision hygiene. Reviewing, curating, and updating the store digital library, and proposing the most effective organization and file structure to ensure a great user experience across multiple audiences, markets, and countries is also part of the role. Presenting ongoing status updates to stakeholders and leadership, with support from the Retail Operations team, is expected.
The ideal candidate is currently pursuing or has recently graduated with a BA or MA in Communications, Business, Education/Instructional Design, or a related field. You should have the ability to connect with and effectively communicate to multiple audiences via written communications, graphics, job aids, or other media. Implementing structure in a fast-paced environment working across multiple stakeholders is essential. A strong visual or structural thinker with a knack for content organization and good instincts around the best ways to tailor method and format to message and audience is desired. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Canva, plus a working knowledge of Excel or Smartsheet, is required. Familiarity with retail and/or operations is a plus.
The compensation for this position is $25 per hour. The ALO internship program starts June 8th and ends July 31st. Interns will work 40 hours per week from our Beverly Hills HQ.
