Staff Software Engineer, Platform

Peregrine Technologies is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join our Foundations team in London, UK. As the first engineer in our UK office, you will have significant ownership across our technology stack, making impactful decisions that will shape the platform's future. Our AI-enabled platform transforms disconnected data into operational intelligence, serving a diverse clientele across multiple regions.

In this role, you will develop and optimize mission-critical infrastructure, enhancing platform performance and capabilities. Responsibilities include re-architecting our Elasticsearch cluster to improve response times and leading strategic initiatives that deliver industry-leading performance. Our technology stack includes Python, Django, Celery, Airflow, Kafka, React, Redux, Mapbox, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, AWS, Pulumi, Terraform, and Kubernetes.

The ideal candidate holds a degree in Computer Science or a related field, with over 8 years of experience in cross-functional software development teams. Proficiency in shipping and iterating on production-grade software components, writing robust and well-tested code, and a strong understanding of product development and large codebases are essential. A passion for owning large portions of the application, crafting user-centric solutions, and tackling complex problems is highly valued.

The position offers a competitive salary range of £110,000 to £186,000 annually, along with benefits, equity options, and potential bonuses. Compensation is influenced by factors such as skill set, experience level, certifications, and work location.
