Staff Product Counsel

EarnIn, a pioneer in earned wage access, is seeking a Staff Product Counsel to join their Legal team in Mountain View, California. This role offers an opportunity to provide legal guidance on financial service product and feature development within a complex regulatory framework. The ideal candidate will have experience in the fintech and/or banking space, bringing creativity and sound judgment to facilitate product innovation.

As Staff Product Counsel, you will work closely with product teams and senior counsel to develop new offerings, advise on legal risk, and ensure regulatory compliance. Your responsibilities will include advising on consumer finance regulatory issues, providing legal and regulatory feedback on existing and new products, and assisting with state and federal examinations. You will also develop and deploy best practices for working with payment processors and financial partners, and assist with litigation matters as needed.

The successful candidate will have at least 10 years of relevant legal experience, a Juris Doctor degree, and be licensed to practice law in the U.S. Strong knowledge of consumer finance regulations, including FDCPA, Reg E, Reg Z, Reg B, FCRA, and UDAAP, is essential. Experience with card payment association rules and NACHA rules is a strong plus. Management experience combined with a collaborative style and the ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision are also important.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $250,000 - $295,000, plus equity and benefits. Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
