Staff Mechanical HVAC Engineer
Graphcore is seeking a Staff Mechanical HVAC Engineer to join its Data Center Engineering team in Austin, Texas. This role involves collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to design and implement mechanical systems that support Graphcore's advanced AI compute platforms. The position requires approximately 10–20% travel for site inspections and factory acceptance testing.
Key responsibilities include developing and reviewing mechanical design standards and specifications, performing detailed engineering analyses to ensure system efficiency and reliability, and coordinating with external consultants and partners to validate mechanical designs. The engineer will also conduct site inspections, oversee commissioning activities, and define owner requirements for mechanical systems across data center projects.
Candidates should possess a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, with strong technical knowledge of HVAC equipment and systems such as chillers, boilers, pumps, air handling equipment, and ductwork design. Experience coordinating with IT teams for infrastructure design in support of high-performance computing environments is essential. Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across cross-disciplinary teams are also required.
