Staff Machine Learning Engineer – (ADAS/Autonomous Driving)
Lucid Motors is seeking a Staff Machine Learning Engineer to lead the integration and deployment of advanced perception models into its production Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and autonomous driving platforms. This role is pivotal in transforming experimental machine learning components into robust, production-ready modules that enhance vehicle intelligence and safety. The position is based in Newark, California, at Lucid's headquarters, where innovation drives the development of luxury electric vehicles.
The primary responsibilities include deploying and integrating perception models, such as those utilizing camera and LiDAR data, into Lucid's centralized software stack. The engineer will optimize inference pipelines using CUDA, TensorRT, and mixed-precision techniques to achieve real-time performance. Additionally, the role involves building continuous integration and deployment pipelines, automating data recording, and developing evaluation frameworks to ensure the reliability and efficiency of the perception stack.
Candidates must possess a BS or MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, along with over seven years of experience in software engineering focused on perception or autonomous systems. Proficiency in C++ and Python is essential, as is experience with ROS1/2, OpenCV, and GPU acceleration. Hands-on experience with machine learning frameworks like PyTorch and inference optimization tools such as TensorRT and CUDA is required. Expertise in containerization technologies like Docker, as well as CI/CD and automated deployment pipelines, is also necessary.
Lucid Motors offers a competitive compensation package, with a base salary ranging from $180,900 to $265,320 annually. Eligible employees may also participate in Lucid's equity program and discretionary annual incentive program, subject to company performance.
