Staff Full-Stack Software Engineer | Modernization
8am is seeking a Staff Full-Stack Software Engineer to join our Engineering team, focusing on modernizing and scaling our SaaS products that serve professionals nationwide. This role offers the opportunity to influence product architecture and development in a growth-stage tech company dedicated to empowering professional service firms.
In this position, you will design and implement scalable applications using modern web frameworks such as Rails, React, Node, and NextJS. Responsibilities include enhancing user experience, improving performance, building robust iOS and Android applications with Expo/React Native, and contributing to reusable component libraries. Collaboration with product teams to assess trade-offs, identify risks, and align improvements with business objectives is essential.
The ideal candidate holds a BS in Computer Science or a related field, with over 7 years of experience in designing and debugging large-scale, cloud-based solutions. Proficiency in building production-grade React applications, developing and maintaining RESTful APIs, and experience with Agile frameworks are required. A strong understanding of SOLID design principles, software design patterns, and experience with cloud platforms like AWS or Google Cloud Platform are also necessary.
