Red Cell Partners is seeking a Staff Developer Experience Engineer to lead the development of systems, tools, and workflows that enable engineers to efficiently build, test, and deploy on Trase OS. As the inaugural DevEx hire, this role involves establishing the foundational platform and team. This position is integral to the core platform engineering team, focusing on designing and operating development environments, build systems, and integration infrastructure to support a distributed, multi-service system with stringent reliability and security requirements.

Key responsibilities include designing and maintaining local development environments that closely mirror production, building and operating build systems, CI pipelines, and test orchestration for multi-service systems. The role also involves owning integration and end-to-end testing infrastructure, developing internal tooling such as CLIs and SDKs, creating repeatable workflows for building, testing, and deploying changes across services, and improving developer feedback loops. Collaboration with DevOps/SRE teams is essential to ensure development workflows align with production reliability and deployment systems.

The ideal candidate will have over 8 years of experience in software engineering, with a significant focus on developer tooling, build systems, or platform engineering. Experience in multi-service or distributed systems environments is crucial, along with strong proficiency in CI/CD systems, build tooling, and test infrastructure. A solid foundation in software engineering fundamentals and a proven ability to enhance developer velocity and system reliability are required. Experience integrating large language models into developer tooling to improve engineering productivity is also desirable.

The position offers a salary range of $170,000 to $230,000, depending on experience and skills.
