Staff Data Scientist, Selection Analytics
The Staff Data Scientist, Selection Analytics role at Wolt is integral to enhancing the company's merchant portfolio across its 32-country operations. The Selection Analytics Team focuses on providing data-driven insights to sales teams, enabling them to identify and prioritize high-potential restaurant and retail partners. This position offers a unique opportunity to influence Wolt's global merchant acquisition strategy by leveraging advanced analytics and machine learning.
Key responsibilities include developing and deploying production-level machine learning models to assess and improve merchant selection quality. The role also involves crafting metrics that offer deeper insights into selection performance across various markets and conducting experiments to understand the impact of selection strategies. Additionally, the Staff Data Scientist will work on self-serve tools to facilitate tracking and analysis of these insights.
Candidates should possess 3-5 years of experience in data science, consulting, or related quantitative fields. Proficiency in Python and SQL is essential, along with strong exploratory data analysis skills and a solid understanding of experimental design and statistical methods. Experience in feature engineering, model design, evaluation, diagnostics, and monitoring is required, as well as familiarity with MLOps concepts and tools such as MLflow or Flyte. A proactive approach to initiating and leading strategic projects within cross-functional teams is also expected.
