As a Staff Data Scientist reporting to the Director of Analytics, you will play a strategic role in guiding key analytics projects across various teams, including Customer Support, Finance, Go-To-Market, Marketing, Product, and Strategy. Your expertise will be instrumental in bringing clarity to complex business challenges, enhancing the company's understanding of its operations, and identifying areas for improvement through data-driven storytelling.
Key responsibilities include developing scalable frameworks that integrate business insights into interpretable outputs, proactively diagnosing data and performance issues to maintain strong operational performance, creating and refining dashboards and visualizations to scale analytics across the organization, establishing causal links between actions and outcomes through experimentation, and bridging data insights with strategic business implications. Additionally, you will champion best practices, consistent terminology, and robust documentation within the Analytics team and the broader organization.
The ideal candidate will have over five years of experience applying analytical and statistical methods to drive critical business outcomes. Strong communication skills are essential, with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts for diverse audiences. Experience across various analytical domains, a proven track record in influencing business strategy through analytics, advanced proficiency in SQL and business intelligence tools (such as Tableau, Mode, or Looker), and familiarity with ETL processes utilizing tools like dbt and Snowflake are required. A proactive approach, strong ownership mindset, and a natural curiosity to delve into system details are also key attributes.
This hybrid role requires on-site presence three days per week at Flex's New York headquarters. The base salary for candidates in Tier 1 markets (NYC/SF) ranges from $155,000 to $194,000 USD, with adjustments based on geographic location.
