Sr Staff Quantitative User Researcher
Mozilla is seeking a Senior Staff Quantitative User Researcher to join the Firefox User Research team. This team is dedicated to human-centered exploration of complex problems, utilizing evidence, data, and insights to drive decision-making. The role involves leading both strategic and tactical quantitative studies to understand user experiences, needs, motivations, and behaviors at scale, translating these findings into actionable insights that shape product and design strategies.
Key responsibilities include owning strategic quantitative research initiatives from scoping business needs and designing surveys to synthesizing data and communicating recommendations that influence product decisions. The researcher will utilize various methods to embed quantitative insights throughout the product development lifecycle, partner cross-functionally to develop research roadmaps, analyze complex data sources, and champion user-centered decision-making by embedding research into product strategy. Additionally, the role involves mentoring peers, refining methods and tools, and scaling approaches to increase the impact of user insights across Firefox.
The ideal candidate will have over 8 years of experience in user research, product research, or a similar applied research setting with a strong focus on quantitative methods. They should possess extensive experience leading survey research across multiple phases of the product development lifecycle, deep expertise in empirical survey methods, and be highly proficient in R for statistical programming and analyzing survey data. Hands-on experience manipulating behavioral data using SQL and integrating it into survey methods to tell cohesive user-focused stories is essential. The candidate should also demonstrate the ability to craft compelling narratives using quantitative data and visualizations, operate successfully in fast-paced, agile environments, and have experience collaborating with qualitative researchers to enable mixed methods research designs.
