Sr. Specialist, Security Operations
Kyowa Kirin North America is seeking a Security Operations Specialist to join its Global Information Security team. This role serves as the regional lead for North America security operations and Operational Technology/Industrial Control Systems (OT/ICS) security, focusing on incident response, monitoring, and cyber defense across IT and manufacturing environments. The company is a fast-growing global specialty pharmaceutical firm dedicated to discovering and delivering novel medicines in areas such as bone and mineral, intractable hematologic, hematology oncology, and rare diseases.
The Security Operations Specialist will lead incident response efforts in North America, coordinating with the global Security Operations Center (SOC) for escalations, investigations, and recovery. Responsibilities include managing monitoring solutions to ensure comprehensive visibility across IT, cloud, and OT environments, developing and maintaining operational security runbooks, and driving continuous improvement of detection and response capabilities. The role also involves partnering with IT, R&D, and Manufacturing teams to enforce regulatory compliance across GxP, HIPAA, and FDA-controlled systems.
Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field, with advanced training in OT/ICS security preferred. A minimum of five years in cybersecurity operations, including experience in SOC or incident response leadership, is required. Essential skills include expertise in Security Operations and Incident Response, hands-on experience with SOC technologies such as SIEM, SOAR, EDR/XDR, and forensic analysis platforms, and a strong background in OT/ICS cybersecurity, including SCADA, PLCs, and lab systems. Knowledge of OT security frameworks like ISA/IEC 62443 and NIST CSF, as well as pharmaceutical regulations including GxP, HIPAA, and 21 CFR Part 11, is also necessary.
The anticipated salary for this position ranges from $115,000 to $130,000 annually.
