Sr. Manager, Sales Engineering (Enterprise, West Coast)
The Sr. Manager, Sales Engineering (Enterprise, West Coast) at Black Duck Software, Inc. will lead a high-performing team of Sales Engineers, driving technical excellence and customer success across the Enterprise West region. This role involves close collaboration with Enterprise Sales, Product Management, Engineering, and R&D to shape regional strategy and influence product direction. Black Duck Software specializes in application security solutions, including SCA, SAST, DAST, and AI-driven code analysis, helping organizations build secure, high-quality software.
Key responsibilities include leading, coaching, and developing the Sales Engineering team to deliver exceptional technical partnerships. The role requires driving a culture of excellence and continuous improvement, partnering with Sales Leadership to execute regional strategies, and improving win rates. Additionally, the manager will deliver polished presentations and technical briefings to diverse audiences, manage multiple Proofs of Concept (PoCs) with clear success criteria, and provide deep technical expertise throughout sales cycles.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of management experience in high-tech software sales or sales engineering leadership, and at least 5 years in a high-tech software organization, preferably in Sales Engineering or Technical Sales. A strong understanding of modern software development, AI-assisted development, SBOM, functional safety, deployment technologies, and the broader application security landscape is essential. Excellent communication skills, the ability to manage multiple sales cycles, and experience with SDLC processes, CI/CD tools, and at least one modern programming language (Java, C/C++, JavaScript, Ruby, Python) are also required.
