Sr. Linux & OCI Administrator (Oracle Linux / RHEL)
Mitratech is seeking an experienced Sr. Linux & Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Administrator to support a production application hosted on OCI. This role focuses on Oracle Linux administration, OCI networking and security, Terraform-based automation, and operational support for SFTP and mail services. The position is remote and open to candidates in Canada.
Key responsibilities include administering and supporting Oracle Linux systems through patching, tuning, and troubleshooting. The role also involves managing OCI resources such as compute instances, virtual cloud networks (VCNs), subnets, routing, and load balancers. Additionally, the administrator will configure and maintain OCI security components, including IAM policies, network security groups (NSGs), security lists, and compartments. Designing and troubleshooting OCI networking and connectivity issues, provisioning and managing infrastructure using Terraform, and supporting SFTP and mail services are also essential duties. The role requires performing system monitoring, coordinating backups, supporting disaster recovery efforts, participating in production support and on-call rotations, and maintaining operational documentation and runbooks.
Candidates should have at least 7 years of professional experience administering Linux in production environments, preferably Oracle Linux or closely related RHEL. Strong hands-on experience with OCI administration, including compute, networking, IAM, and security, is required. Experience supporting Oracle WebLogic Server and working knowledge of Oracle Database environments are also necessary. Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation tools, specifically Terraform and Ansible, is essential. A solid understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, routing, DNS, DHCP, load balancing, proxies, firewalls/security groups, and PKI/certificates (TLS), is expected. Proficiency in Bash scripting and experience with SFTP and SMTP/mail services are also required. The role demands strong troubleshooting skills, the ability to work in production-critical environments, and good communication and documentation skills.
