Sr. Interaction Designer, Visualization Real-Time
Lucid Motors is seeking a Senior Interaction Designer specializing in real-time visualization to join our team in Fremont, California. This role focuses on developing and maintaining augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) applications that enhance the user experience of our luxury electric vehicles. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to create immersive and photorealistic mixed reality experiences that align with Lucid's commitment to innovation and design excellence.
Key responsibilities include maintaining existing AR applications for iOS devices, creating unique and innovative mixed reality experiences for iOS and VR headsets, and applying specialized UI principles tailored for AR and VR environments. The role also involves creating and optimizing 3D assets for integration into AR applications, performing debugging and user testing, and ensuring low-latency real-time rendering for efficient performance across various devices and platforms. Staying abreast of emerging hardware and best practices in AR/VR is essential, as is developing strategic relationships within the company to implement immersive experiences that improve workflows.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong portfolio of interactive AR and VR experiences, experience in automotive design development, and proficiency in developing iOS applications, including publishing via Apple Business Developer. Experience with Meta hardware and device management, version control using Git, and expertise in scripting languages such as C++, C#, and Python are required. Familiarity with CAD optimization tools like Pixyz is also desirable. A self-motivated and ambitious work ethic, strong aesthetic sensibilities, and excellent communication skills are essential for effective collaboration with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred, along with three to five years of relevant development experience.
Lucid Motors offers a competitive base salary ranging from $159,800 to $234,410 USD annually, depending on factors such as knowledge, skillset, experience, education, and training. Additional compensation and benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance, vacation, and a 401(k) plan. The successful candidate may also be eligible to participate in Lucid’s equity program and/or a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to company performance.
