Sr Data Engineer, Compliance Data Infrastructure

The company is seeking a Senior Data Engineer for Compliance Data Infrastructure to enhance its compliance analytics capabilities. This role is integral to building and maintaining the data infrastructure that supports compliance functions, including Anti-Money Laundering (AML) transaction monitoring, Know Your Customer (KYC) and Know Your Business (KYB) processes, sanctions screening, and Suspicious Activity Report (SAR) reporting. The position is based in the United States and offers a hybrid work environment.
In this role, the Senior Data Engineer will design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines that ingest, transform, and deliver data for various compliance analytics use cases. Responsibilities include assessing and improving existing data infrastructure, identifying pipeline gaps, lineage issues, and data quality problems, and systematically addressing them. The engineer will also build and maintain compliance-specific data marts and semantic layers to enable data scientists and analysts to work independently, reducing ad-hoc data requests and increasing team throughput. Collaboration with data scientists and machine learning engineers is essential to productionize feature pipelines, maintain data freshness, and ensure the reliability of compliance machine learning models in production.
The ideal candidate will have over eight years of experience in data engineering or a closely related role, with significant exposure to financial services, fintech, or compliance-adjacent environments. Proficiency in Python and SQL is required, along with hands-on experience in distributed computing frameworks such as Spark, Hadoop, or Databricks. Solid experience with cloud and big data platforms, including Alibaba MaxCompute, Google BigQuery, AWS Redshift, or equivalent, is essential. The candidate should also have a track record of building production-grade pipelines where reliability and data quality are prioritized. Familiarity with AI-assisted engineering practices, including the use of large language model coding tools, is highly desirable.
