Sr. Counsel, Global Alliance Legal

As Senior Counsel, Global Alliances Legal at AbbVie, you will be integral to the company's strategic external collaborations, focusing on partnerships in Immunology, Immuno-Oncology, and Artificial Intelligence. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams, including research and development, corporate strategy, and commercial operations, to manage and optimize alliances throughout the product lifecycle.

Key responsibilities include advising on alliance, partnership, and collaboration matters across the pharmaceutical lifecycle, interpreting and analyzing complex strategic agreements, and drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a variety of agreements such as licenses and collaboration agreements. Additionally, you will collaborate with the Transactions Legal team to evaluate and negotiate new collaborations, support due diligence, and provide clear legal advice to maximize the potential of AbbVie's pipeline.

The ideal candidate will possess a J.D. degree, meet the professional licensing requirements of their practice state, and have at least six years of relevant experience in drafting and negotiating life sciences transactions, advising on complex global collaborations, or supporting pharmaceutical research and development. Experience with AI/ML technologies in drug development is preferred, along with a scientific background or a strong interest in biology and chemistry.

AbbVie offers a competitive compensation package, with a salary range of $156,000 to $296,500 annually, and a comprehensive benefits package including paid time off, medical, dental, and vision insurance, and 401(k) plans. This position requires a minimum of three days per week in the office at either Abbott Park in North Chicago, IL, Waltham, MA, or South San Francisco, CA.
