As a (Senior) Chemical Analyst Contaminants at Eurofins LabCo in Barendrecht, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety of food and animal feed by conducting precise contaminant analyses. Eurofins LabCo specializes in analyzing raw materials and food products from the Rotterdam harbor, contributing to the broader mission of Eurofins Food, Feed & Water to maintain food safety across the Netherlands.

In this position, you will perform contaminant analyses on raw materials, food products, and animal feed using advanced techniques such as LC/MS and GC/MS. Your responsibilities include planning laboratory activities, monitoring quality, adhering to procedures, and independently conducting maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment. You will also participate in validations, equipment management, and maintaining the quality system, while actively contributing to process improvements.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor's degree in (analytical) chemistry, chemical technology, or a related field, with at least five years of experience as a chemical analyst, preferably focusing on mycotoxins, PAHs, and acrylamide. Proficiency in LC/MS and GC/MS techniques, along with experience analyzing matrices such as grains, spices, and cocoa, is essential. You should be capable of performing independent maintenance and troubleshooting, work meticulously, be quality-oriented (ISO17025), and communicate effectively in both Dutch and English.

Eurofins offers a one-year contract with the prospect of a permanent position, a salary ranging from €2,940 to €3,500 gross per month based on a 40-hour workweek, and 25 vacation days with the option to purchase additional leave.
