Spring 2027 Legal Intern, Abortion Criminal Defense Initiative

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) is seeking a Spring 2027 Legal Intern for its Abortion Criminal Defense Initiative (ACDI). This role offers both part-time and full-time opportunities and can be performed remotely or in a hybrid setting from New York, NY, or Washington D.C. The ACDI was established in response to the Dobbs decision to address the criminal defense needs of abortion providers, patients, and those assisting individuals seeking abortion care. The team comprises a dedicated group of criminal defense attorneys who manage and support a nationwide network of experienced defenders, providing legal, strategic, and logistical assistance to local counsel in defending against the criminalization of reproductive healthcare.
