SONiC Test Engineer
Arista Networks is seeking a SONiC Test Engineer to join our development team. In this role, you will collaborate closely with developers to identify and resolve software and hardware issues, ensuring the delivery of high-quality networking products. You will also work with field-facing teams to understand customer deployments and represent their use cases to engineering teams.
Key responsibilities include designing and executing test plans to validate Arista features and products, creating test network topologies to assess functionality, performance, stability, and scalability, and identifying and resolving defects. You will participate in functional specification and software design reviews, providing customer-centric input, and work as an agile member of a combined development and test team to develop functional software in quick iterations.
The ideal candidate will have a BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering, with 3+ years of networking experience; an MS degree is preferred. A minimum of one year of hands-on experience testing SONiC is required, with strong knowledge of SONiC architecture, including SAI, FRR open routing stack, Redis-DB, Docker, and Minigraph. Proficiency in Linux operating systems and associated technologies, as well as strong knowledge in areas such as Ethernet, VLANs, IP Routing, and various network protocols, is essential. Experience with test automation tools and scripting languages is desired, along with strong communication skills.
Arista offers a competitive base salary ranging from $95,000 to $145,000, depending on factors such as skills, qualifications, relevant experience, and work location. Additional compensation may include discretionary bonuses and equity.
