Software Platform Engineer, DevOps/SRE
Muon Space is seeking a Software Platform Engineer to join our Software Platform team. This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining a reliable and scalable platform that enables efficient and secure software delivery across the organization. The successful candidate will empower our science and engineering teams with modern cloud infrastructure and DevOps practices, directly accelerating our ability to deliver satellite systems and climate solutions.
Key responsibilities include designing and implementing infrastructure-as-code using Terraform and Terragrunt across various cloud platforms, deploying Bazel build infrastructure to enhance developer productivity, developing cloud cost visibility dashboards, architecting and operating AWS EKS clusters for production workloads, implementing monitoring solutions with Grafana, Prometheus, and InfluxDB, and expanding private network infrastructure using Cloudflare Zero Trust and AWS transit gateway.
Candidates should have over 5 years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or Platform Engineering, with deep expertise in AWS services (EKS, EC2, VPC, IAM) and Terraform. Production experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration is also required. Preferred qualifications include experience with Bazel build systems, GitHub Enterprise and Okta/SSO integration, Artifactory or similar artifact management systems, Backstage or similar developer portal platforms, AWS GovCloud and multi-account AWS organizations, and experience in aerospace or satellite systems.
The salary range for this role is $184,000 - $208,000, plus a competitive equity grant and comprehensive benefits package. Final compensation will be based on skills, qualifications, experience, and geographic location as assessed during the interview process.
