Software Engineer- SONiC
Arista Networks is seeking a Software Engineer to join our Software for Open Networking in the Cloud (SONiC) development team. This role involves contributing to the development and delivery of SONiC software on Arista switches, enhancing our commitment to open network solutions. As part of a high-caliber team, you will play a pivotal role in building features that power some of the world's largest data center networks.
In this position, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and testing network applications and microservices for data center networking on SONiC. Your day-to-day activities will include writing functional and design specifications, developing code in C, C++, and Python, creating and executing test plans, and collaborating with the SONiC community to upstream code and test changes. Additionally, you will work closely with customers to troubleshoot and resolve network issues, ensuring the quality and reliability of our products.
The ideal candidate will possess strong engineering and computer science fundamentals, with extensive experience in algorithms and software architecture. Proficiency in C, C++, or Python programming is essential, along with hands-on experience in a robust product-engineering environment. A minimum of 3-9 years of software development experience is required, including at least one year of hands-on experience with SONiC. Familiarity with SONiC architecture, the FRR open routing stack, Redis-DB, Docker, and experience using SONiC SAI for feature development and integration are highly desirable.
Arista offers a competitive compensation package, with a base salary range of $95,000 to $145,000, depending on skills, qualifications, experience, and work location.
