Software Engineer - Remote Hungary, Romania, Greece & Spain

Arista Networks is seeking a Software Engineer to join our Extensible Operating System (EOS) development team. This role offers the opportunity to work remotely from Hungary, Romania, Greece, or Spain. As a key member of the EOS team, you will contribute to building features that power some of the world's largest data center networks. Your work will be integral to Arista's Linux-based network operating system, which runs across all of our data center networking products.

In this position, you will be responsible for writing functional and design specifications for features related to internet and cloud data center traffic forwarding. You will independently implement solutions in C and C++, develop automated test programs, and debug issues identified by these tests. Collaboration with Customer Support Engineers and System Test Engineers will be essential to analyze and resolve problems in customer networks and internal tests. Additionally, you will mentor junior engineers and contribute to the continuous improvement of our software development environment.

The ideal candidate holds a BSc, MS, or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering, with over five years of relevant post-graduate experience. Proficiency in C and/or C++ programming languages and a solid understanding of UNIX or Linux systems are required. Strong engineering fundamentals, including a background in algorithms and software architecture, are essential for success in this role.
