Canonical is seeking a Software Engineer to join our team focused on developing and maintaining a new generation of Ubuntu-based container images. These images aim to simplify open-source application deployment globally, offering long-term security commitments and optimized performance. As part of this initiative, you will collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure the highest quality and seamless user experience.

In this role, you will be responsible for building robust and scalable container images, implementing and maintaining Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) automation, and developing tools and tests to assess security compliance and cloud-native compatibility. Your contributions will be integral to products like Rocks (OCI images), and you will have the opportunity to influence and consolidate this growing team.

The ideal candidate will possess strong software development skills, particularly in Python, and experience with CI/CD systems such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Concourse CI. Familiarity with GitOps principles, container management tools like Docker or Kubernetes, and Linux systems administration is essential. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, STEM, or a related field is required.

Additional benefits include a personal learning and development budget, annual compensation reviews, recognition rewards, annual holiday leave, parental leave, and an Employee Assistance Program.
