Software Engineer, Modelling & Simulation, Advanced Capabilities
Anduril Industries is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Maneuver Dominance Advanced Capabilities team in their London office. This team focuses on delivering Capability Strategy, Mission Advantage, and Maneuver Advantage by leveraging analysis, wargaming, and warfighter-centric thinking to guide the development and deployment of capabilities needed for future combat scenarios.
As the inaugural software engineering hire for this team, the successful candidate will lead the development of modeling and simulation applications, infrastructure, and services. These tools will support operations analysis and wargaming, aiding both product development and customer engagement. The role involves working on challenging problems across various programs and products in a fast-paced environment.
Key responsibilities include developing the Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis (MS&A) framework to support mission-level concept exploration, tactics development, autonomous behaviors, and Software-in-the-Loop (SITL) product development. The engineer will create simulation models for sensors, communications, movement, tactical behaviors, weapon effects, electronic effects, and command and control systems. Collaboration with Operations Analysis team members and capability teams like Mission Autonomy is essential to deliver simulation capabilities that enable efficient analysis and accelerate development.
Required qualifications include advanced proficiency in C++ and/or Rust, as well as Python. A background in Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis engineering or a related industry is necessary. The candidate should demonstrate curiosity and the ability to learn beyond their core discipline. Eligibility to obtain and maintain an active UKSV Security Clearance is also required.
Preferred qualifications encompass experience with aerospace or aeronautical systems, including fixed-wing aircraft, rockets, satellites, and rotorcraft. Familiarity with flight dynamics, platform physics, and control systems is advantageous. Experience in developing subsystem and system-level models for various complex systems, as well as working with multi-system mission-level simulations across different domains, is desirable. A background in military simulation fields and experience in a startup environment are also beneficial.
