The Software Alliances Director, EMEA at Canonical is responsible for collaborating with leading software companies to optimize and integrate their products with Ubuntu and other Canonical offerings. This role involves developing joint product roadmaps, driving delivery, and formulating go-to-market strategies to create differentiated solutions and robust product life-cycle support. The position is remote-based within the EMEA region.

Key responsibilities include setting account strategies in major accounts, regions, or verticals; collaborating with product, engineering, alliance, and marketing teams to align on open-source strategies; capturing partner requirements and identifying Canonical opportunities; coordinating with marketing and product teams on messaging and launch plans; creating partner- and customer-facing materials; driving Ubuntu adoption within targeted alliance accounts; and influencing alliance partners to build with Canonical technology. The role requires up to 25% international travel for conferences and partnership development.

Candidates should have demonstrated cross-functional leadership and influence, a bachelor's degree in science, technology, or engineering, experience in software development and system architecture, customer-facing experience in relevant functions, excellent communication skills across all stakeholder levels, the ability to work at both strategic and tactical levels, and be disciplined and self-motivated for a remote-first environment. Preferred qualifications include experience with open-source software and business models, product or program management experience, understanding of marketing and go-to-market strategy, sector-specific experience in finance, telecommunications, automotive, or public sectors, and a postgraduate degree in a relevant field.
