Small Business Ownership – Freelance AI Trainer Project

As an AI Trainer, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing language models to better support entrepreneurs in areas such as operations, strategy, financial planning, and customer engagement. In this role, you will engage AI models with realistic small business scenarios and operational challenges. Your responsibilities include evaluating outputs related to budgeting, pricing, marketing strategies, hiring decisions, vendor management, customer communications, and compliance considerations. You will assess the practicality of AI responses, capture reproducible error traces, and provide structured feedback to improve prompts and evaluation criteria. Additionally, you may identify areas where models oversimplify trade-offs or misunderstand resource constraints common to very small businesses.
Candidates should have direct experience owning or co-owning a small business, with expertise in managing operations, finances, marketing, staffing, or growth strategies. Both new business owners and seasoned entrepreneurs are encouraged to apply. Clear, metacognitive communication—explicitly articulating how and why decisions are made in a real business context—is essential for this role.
Compensation ranges from $6 to $65 per hour, determined based on experience, expertise, and geographic location. As a contractor, you will need to provide a secure computer and high-speed internet; company-sponsored benefits such as health insurance and paid time off do not apply.
