Senior Systems Engineer – Performance & Reliability (Analysis)
Graphcore is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join our Performance & Reliability team in Bristol, UK. This role focuses on analyzing large-scale system measurements to inform engineering decisions, ensuring our AI compute platforms meet production standards. As part of a team dedicated to evaluating system performance and reliability, you will play a crucial role in determining the readiness of our systems for deployment.
In this position, you will be responsible for designing and executing measurements on distributed systems, analyzing performance and reliability data, and improving systems that execute measurements at scale. Your day-to-day tasks will include running measurements on large-scale Linux clusters, using and extending tools such as pytest for measurement execution, measuring compute, network, and machine learning workload performance, and analyzing variability and repeatability of results.
The ideal candidate will have strong software engineering experience, typically gained across multiple projects or systems over several years. Proficiency in Python and experience working in Linux-based environments, ideally with distributed or high-performance systems, are essential. Familiarity with automation and CI/CD systems (e.g., GitLab CI, Jenkins, GitHub Actions) is also required. Additionally, the ability to design, implement, and run experiments or tests that produce meaningful results, as well as interpret results and communicate findings clearly, is crucial.
