Senior Systems Engineer – Performance & Reliability (Analysis)
Graphcore is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join their Performance & Reliability team in London, UK. This role focuses on analyzing large-scale system measurements to inform engineering decisions, ensuring that systems meet performance and reliability standards before entering production. The team operates across the entire AI compute stack, from silicon and software to datacenter infrastructure, contributing to Graphcore's mission of building the future of AI compute.
Key responsibilities include designing and executing measurements on distributed Linux systems, analyzing performance and reliability data, and improving systems that execute measurements at scale. The role involves working with measurement data from compute, network, and machine learning workloads, using tools such as pytest for structured test execution, and interpreting results to define acceptable system behavior.
The ideal candidate will have strong software engineering experience, particularly in Linux-based environments with distributed or high-performance systems. Proficiency in Python and experience with automation and CI/CD systems like GitLab CI, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions are essential. The ability to design, implement, and run experiments that produce meaningful results, as well as interpret and communicate findings clearly, is crucial. Comfort with areas where requirements are not fully defined and sound engineering judgment are also important.
