Senior Systems Engineer
Graphcore is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to enhance the reliability of AI compute hardware, transitioning from lab discoveries to data center implementations. This role involves leading advanced operational, diagnostic, and engineering support across lab and data center environments, focusing on hardware bring-up, validation, and troubleshooting for AI compute platforms. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with Systems Engineering, Hardware Engineering, server engineering, firmware, platform architects, and data center operations teams to ensure the performance and scalability of next-generation AI systems.
Key responsibilities include diagnosing failures across server blades, racks, power systems, thermal behavior, network configuration, and BIOS/BMC issues. The engineer will conduct root cause analysis, propose corrective actions, and develop standard operating procedures and troubleshooting guides. Additionally, the role involves mentoring junior engineers, supporting hardware bring-up activities, and participating in on-call support during critical engineering milestones or hardware bring-up phases.
Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline, with at least seven years of experience in server hardware architectures and board-level debugging. Proficiency in analyzing system logs, hardware telemetry, and power/thermal metrics to isolate hardware failures is essential. Hands-on experience with high-performance computing systems, AI compute platforms, or rack-scale infrastructure is required. Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively in fast-paced engineering environments are crucial, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
