Senior Systems Engineer

Arista Networks is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join the VeloCloud Operations Team, reporting to the Operations leader. This team is responsible for deploying and operating SASE products and platforms, ensuring service reliability and scalability. Arista Networks is an industry leader in data-driven, client-to-cloud networking for large data center, campus, and routing environments, committed to innovation and excellence.

The Senior Systems Engineer will operate global infrastructure, manage service availability, and handle tasks such as RMA and gear refresh. Responsibilities include data center solutions with infrastructure-as-code, designing hybrid cloud environments integrating public cloud IaaS and physical data centers, and collaborating with SREs to ensure production-grade management of software components. Additional duties involve server selection, qualification, deployment, server patching, upgrades, and responding to security incidents.

Candidates should have a BS in Computer Science (preferred) and experience as a system administrator for Linux and ESXi. Proficiency in Python, infrastructure-as-code tools like Ansible and Terraform, and building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins and GitHub is required. A solid understanding of L2 and L3 OSI Network Layers, hands-on experience with the VCF stack, and administrative-level knowledge of public cloud providers are essential. Skills in capacity management, availability monitoring, and familiarity with tools such as AIOps, Wavefront, LogicMonitor, ELK stack, and SaltStack are also necessary.
