This position focuses on delivering precise and timely project and portfolio reporting, developing executive dashboards, and overseeing the transition of project tracking and reporting tools from Smartsheet to Microsoft Project. The role is based in New York, NY, and offers a hybrid work environment.
Key responsibilities include leading the PMO reporting process across multiple projects and programs, ensuring data accuracy and consistency. The specialist will design, develop, maintain, and automate project and portfolio dashboards using Power BI, integrating data from MS Project and other tools. Managing the migration from Smartsheet to MS Project is also a critical aspect, involving defining data mapping, process design, user training, and the creation of standardized reporting templates. Collaboration with Project Managers, business analysts, and senior leadership is essential to align reporting standards with organizational strategies. Additionally, the role involves producing executive-level status reports that monitor KPIs, resource utilization, budgets, risks, and milestone performance. Establishing consistent reporting practices in compliance with internal governance standards and continuously identifying opportunities to improve data management and reporting processes are also key duties.
Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Information Systems, or related fields, with over six years of experience in project reporting and data analysis, preferably within a professional services firm. Strong proficiency in Power BI, including dashboard design, data modeling, and performance optimization, is required. Experience with MS Project or PMO within a law firm or financial institution, as well as direct experience with Microsoft Project and Smartsheet, including managing tool transitions, is essential. A solid understanding of Project Management Frameworks such as PMBOK, Agile, and Waterfall is necessary. Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills are crucial for success in this role.
The estimated base salary for this position ranges from $130,000 to $150,000 annually. The actual salary offered will depend on various factors, including the applicant's qualifications, years of relevant experience, level of education, and certifications. This role is exempt, meaning it is not eligible for overtime pay. Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP does not sponsor applicants for work visas for this position.
