Senior Software Engineer, Robotics
Divergent Technologies is seeking a Senior Software Engineer specializing in Robotics to join their Robotics & AI Software team in Torrance, California. Divergent has developed the Divergent Adaptive Production System (DAPS™), an end-to-end digital manufacturing platform that leverages machine learning to engineer, additively manufacture, and assemble complex vehicle structures and subsystems. The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for developing and maintaining software development best practices to ensure high-quality code, efficient testing, and timely releases. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate software seamlessly with other products, designing and implementing algorithms for robot task and motion planning, and optimizing these algorithms within the planning framework. Additionally, the engineer will assist in integrating and testing computer vision software to ensure robustness and performance in real-world scenarios.
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Robotics, or a related field, along with over five years of professional experience. Proficiency in programming languages such as C++ and Python is required, as well as a strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and design patterns. A fundamental understanding of industrial robotics, including manipulator kinematics and dynamics, robot trajectory generation, and communication protocols, is essential. Experience with search algorithms, optimization methods, and constraint satisfaction, as well as familiarity with open-source robotic planning and manipulation software packages like MoveIt and ROS, is also necessary.
The position offers a competitive salary range of $141,380 to $194,390 USD, along with a comprehensive compensation package that includes equity plans and discretionary results-based incentive bonuses.
