Senior Software Engineer - High Performance Systems
As a Senior Backend Engineer specializing in high-performance systems at Fever, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the backbone of our live-entertainment platform. In this role, you will design and implement end-to-end features within your squad, focusing on event-driven systems to enhance performance, reliability, and scalability. Your responsibilities will include participating in architectural discussions, proposing improvements across our services and APIs, and collaborating closely with Product, Data, and other Engineering teams to enhance our platform and developer experience. You will also take ownership of core components, lead by example through code reviews, design sessions, and mentoring, and contribute to best practices in areas like scalability, observability, and system design.
The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of building maintainable and scalable code, applying test-driven development and design patterns. Proficiency in relational databases and SQL, particularly PostgreSQL, is essential. Experience with Python (Django/FastAPI), Redis, event streaming platforms such as Kafka or RabbitMQ, and handling services with high concurrency and high-volume requests is highly desirable. Familiarity with AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes is also beneficial. Proficiency in business English is required.
Fever offers a competitive compensation package, including a base salary ranging from €50,000 to €70,000, with total compensation (including base, variable, and stock options) between €67,500 and €90,000. The position is home office friendly, allowing you to be based anywhere in Spain, with a relocation package available for international candidates.
