Senior Software Engineer (Agentic AI) - Python
Doctolib is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the AI Health Companion stream within the Patient domain. In this role, you will be instrumental in transforming the Doctolib app into a comprehensive health companion powered by AI, assisting patients in managing their health with accuracy, empathy, and safety. You will collaborate with a feature team dedicated to developing an AI-powered chat designed to address patients' health-related inquiries. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to innovative products that enhance the daily lives of care teams and patients.
Your primary responsibilities will include designing, deploying, and operating production-grade agentic systems that tackle key health challenges for patients. You will work closely with data scientists to develop and implement evaluation pipelines, security and safety guardrails, and performance metrics. Rapid validation of hypotheses through offline evaluation datasets and A/B testing on real traffic will be essential. Additionally, you will develop and maintain core agentic capabilities such as memory, reasoning orchestration, and tool adapters, ensuring robust observability, fallback mechanisms, and fail-safe behaviors. Ownership of performance, observability, and security aspects, including monitoring dashboards, service level objectives/indicators, and security posture, is also expected. Ensuring privacy and security by design and contributing to cross-functional initiatives that shape Doctolib's future AI platform and best practices in building agentic systems are key aspects of this role.
The ideal candidate will have over four years of experience as a software engineer, with significant experience using Python. A strong understanding and promotion of best practices related to the software development life cycle, such as automated testing, effective use of CI/CD, and DevOps practices, are essential. A product-oriented mindset with the ability to guide teammates in balancing business needs with technical constraints is highly valued. Adaptability to the most efficient technologies to solve issues and proficiency in English for daily communication are also required. Experience with traditional machine learning or agentic systems in production and familiarity with the medical domain are advantageous.
