Senior Principal, ML/AI
Xometry is seeking a Senior Principal in Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence to lead large, cross-functional ML/AI initiatives with significant business impact. This role involves defining and driving an 18- to 24-month technical roadmap that balances innovation with business value delivery. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with engineering, product, design, manufacturing operations, and business leadership to influence partner roadmaps and resourcing.
Key responsibilities include serving as the technical leader for multiple large ML/AI solutions, defining and driving the ML/AI technical roadmap, influencing partner roadmaps across various teams, proactively identifying and removing project roadblocks, and mentoring individuals and technical teams. The role also involves identifying opportunities to drive revenue growth, cost reduction, efficiency improvement, and competitive differentiation, especially in areas involving 2D/3D part understanding, generative AI, and advanced machine-learning platforms.
The ideal candidate will have a Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Applied Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, with a preference for a PhD in deep generative/3D modeling. They should possess over 12 years of professional experience in machine learning, artificial intelligence, or data science roles, including several years in a senior or principal capacity leading major programs. Demonstrated experience in architecting and delivering large-scale ML/AI solutions end-to-end is essential. Deep expertise in machine learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch), data engineering, model infrastructure, MLOps, cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), and scalable production systems is required. Experience in 3D modeling, computer vision, generative models, and translating generative AI techniques into business use cases is highly desirable.
The estimated base salary range for new hires into this role is $150,000 to $196,000 annually, plus an annual bonus, depending on factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, and location.
