Senior Optical Transceiver Design Engineer

Arista Networks is seeking a Senior Optical Transceiver Design Engineer to join our Hardware Architecture Engineering Division. This role focuses on designing and developing next-generation optical modules and engines at 1.6Tbps and beyond, contributing to Arista's leadership in data center connectivity and networking innovation.

Key responsibilities include defining and architecting optical transceiver modules aligned with product-level requirements, designing high-speed PCB schematics for optical modules, guiding layout engineers to meet mechanical, signal integrity, thermal, and manufacturing constraints, and collaborating across disciplines to ensure successful integration of optical, electrical, and mechanical systems. The role also involves leading technical validation, performance optimization, supporting design validation, and staying current with industry standards.

The ideal candidate holds a B.Tech in Electrical Engineering or a related field and has over 10 years of experience in optical transceiver design, fiber optics, RF modulation, and networking systems. Hands-on experience with PCB schematic design, high-speed opto-electrical system design, MSA and IEEE standards for optical transceivers, and testing transceiver performance is essential. Proficiency in software scripting for automation using Python, C++, or LabVIEW, along with strong communication skills, is also required.

The base salary for this role ranges from $150,000 to $230,000.
