Senior Mechanical Technician
The Senior Mechanical Technician at BESIX plays a pivotal role within the Fast Response Crew, ensuring rapid and effective responses to mechanical emergencies. Key responsibilities include implementing immediate mechanical containment measures, performing rapid assessments to identify equipment and system issues, and deploying emergency mechanical equipment. The technician will conduct comprehensive inspections using specialized tools, perform root cause analyses of mechanical failures, and coordinate non-destructive testing for critical components. Additionally, the role involves supervising the dismantling and replacement of various mechanical equipment, overseeing pipe repair and replacement works, and conducting pre-commissioning activities and system startups.
Candidates should possess a high school diploma or equivalent qualification, with certification from a vocational or trade school preferred. A minimum of 8 years of experience in a similar role is required. Strong knowledge of centrifugal and submersible pumps, blowers, gearboxes, and various pipe-joining techniques is essential. Proficiency in using vibration analysis tools, alignment tools, ultrasonic testing equipment, and CCTV inspection devices is also necessary. Familiarity with mechanical safety standards, pressure equipment regulations, and confined space entry requirements is expected. A valid UAE driving license is mandatory.
