Key responsibilities include acting as the primary specialist on employee relations matters, guiding managers in adhering to company policies, local laws, and regulations. The role involves establishing governance standards, operating guidelines, and decision frameworks to ensure organizational consistency. Additionally, the Senior Manager represents the organization in union consultations, negotiations, arbitration, and dispute resolution forums, analyzing proposals to assess policy, financial, and employee-relations implications. The position also entails conducting impartial investigations into grievances, identifying trends to inform procedural improvements, and spearheading enhancements in performance management systems and offboarding processes.

The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of employee relations, labor relations, and workplace dispute management, along with strong knowledge of employment legislation, regulations, and industrial relations practices. A degree in Human Resource Management, Law, Industrial Relations, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience, is required. The candidate should have a minimum of 13 years in Employee and Labor Relations or HR Business Partnering roles within large or regulated organizations, with a proven track record of handling complex employee relations issues. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, and proficiency in using data and analytics to inform decision-making processes are essential.
