Senior Manager, Compliance & Legal Operations
The Senior Manager, Compliance & Legal Operations at Studs is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing the studio compliance program across all active and new locations, as well as managing the operational aspects of a dynamic Legal & Compliance department. Studs, a rapidly growing ear piercing and earring brand, operates over 40 studios across 15 states and is expanding by 8–10 new locations annually. This position is based at 594 Broadway Suite 200, New York, NY 10012.
In this role, the Senior Manager will manage the daily operations of the Studs Studio Compliance App, ensuring that Regional and Studio Managers effectively address compliance requirements. They will interpret state, county, and city health department regulations to support new studio openings and maintain current compliance materials across all markets. The position also involves delivering structured training sessions on topics such as inspection preparation and regulatory updates, and overseeing the procurement and renewal of establishment and individual piercer licenses for all studios. Additionally, the Senior Manager will coordinate with insurance brokers on certificates of insurance, manage contract lifecycle processes, and provide paralegal-level support to the Chief Legal Officer and Senior Counsel.
Candidates should have over five years of experience in regulatory compliance, legal operations, or related fields, with a proven ability to manage compliance programs across multiple jurisdictions. A four-year college degree is required; paralegal certification or a non-practicing JD is preferred. Strong project management skills are essential, as is proficiency with tools like DocuSign, Jotform, and Google Workspace. Effective communication and relationship-building skills are crucial for interacting with various stakeholders, including field leadership and regulatory authorities.
The compensation for this role ranges from $125,000 to $165,000 annually.
