This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, including engineering, AI, security, and HR, to ensure compliance with evolving data privacy and AI regulations. The position is available in Berlin, Germany; Munich, Germany; and Prague, Czech Republic.

In this role, you will advise cross-functional groups on data privacy and regulatory compliance, evaluate product features and global data governance for privacy-by-design compliance, and draft and maintain internal and external data protection agreements, privacy policies, and terms of service. Additionally, you will map data flows and technical operations to ensure they fit within a coherent global regulatory framework, research international regulatory shifts, and prepare clear, structured legal memos and comparative analyses. You will also build and improve legal templates, guidance, DSAR processes, and knowledge databases, spot and assess legal risks related to new technology laws, technical product design, and data processing, and drive process improvements within the team to boost efficiency, incorporating AI and automation tools where appropriate.

The ideal candidate will have at least 8 years of post-qualification legal experience focused primarily on data privacy, technology law, or digital regulatory compliance, including substantial experience as in-house counsel advising on privacy and data protection matters within an international technology company. A proven track record of successfully implementing EU data protection regulations (GDPR, ePrivacy) into company processes is essential. A completed university-level degree in law and professional fluency in written and spoken English are required. The ability to draft clear, legally sound privacy policies, terms of service, and regulatory risk assessments is also necessary.

JetBrains offers a competitive base salary that reflects your skills and experience. The company provides flexible work locations, allowing you to work from home or from the office, and offers remote work options for up to 30 days per year from abroad. Additional benefits include extra time off, a medical insurance allowance, learning and development opportunities, language classes, lunch allowances, mental health support, sports benefits, and internal events.
