Senior Legal Counsel (Generalist)
Eqvilent is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to serve as a trusted partner to the business and a project-owning operator within the legal team. This role involves leading legal support for the company's expansion into new markets, including entity setup, regulatory approvals, and commercial launch. The position offers direct collaboration with the CEO and senior leadership, providing an opportunity to make a significant impact within the organization.
Key responsibilities include drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a broad range of commercial agreements, such as trading, technology, services, vendor, and partnership contracts. The role also involves supporting corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and investment structures. Additionally, the Senior Legal Counsel will own legal and cross-functional projects, working closely with compliance, operations, finance, technology, and senior leadership teams.
The ideal candidate is a qualified lawyer with over seven years of post-qualification experience, including meaningful time spent at a major international or top-tier regional law firm. They should have a proven track record of managing complex, multi-jurisdictional legal projects independently and to deadline. Strong commercial instincts, exceptional written and verbal communication skills, and proficiency in modern AI platforms are essential. Advanced knowledge of English is required, and fluency in Russian is considered a plus.
